Quartz Banger Care: Keep It Clear, Keep the Flavor

A quartz banger is a consumable — but how fast you consume it is entirely up to you. The difference between a banger that's cloudy in two weeks and one that's clear at six months is a single 10-second habit.

Why quartz turns cloudy

Leftover concentrate that burns off at high heat carbonizes into the quartz surface. That white haze is chazzing — burnt residue bonded into the material. It kills flavor and it doesn't come back out.

The 10-second habit: swab while warm

After every dab, while the banger is still warm (not glowing), roll a dry cotton swab around the bucket, then follow with a swab dipped in 91%+ isopropyl alcohol. Done. That's the entire secret — puddles never get the chance to burn in.

Weekly reset

Even with good habits, give it a weekly soak: 30 minutes in iso, rinse with warm water, dry fully before heating. Never torch a wet banger, and never shock hot quartz with cold liquid — thermal shock cracks even thick bottoms.

Temperature discipline

High-temp dabs are the other quartz killer. Heat until the bucket barely starts to glow, then let it cool 30-60 seconds before you dab, with a carb cap on top. Lower temps mean better flavor, gentler hits and a banger that lives longer.

When to replace

Once the bucket floor is uniformly hazed and flavor has gone flat, it's done. Match your next one to your rig using the spec pills — size, gender, angle — in our bangers & nails collection, and grab a dab tool if yours is getting crusty too.
